Small Airports connect in Wellington
NZ Airports’ Small Airports Day brought airport operators from across New Zealand together in Wellington this week for a day of practical discussion, shared experiences and collaboration.
The programme was deliberately discussion-led, giving airport operators the opportunity to work through common challenges, hear different perspectives and learn from each other.
Conversations ranged from emergency preparedness and commercial opportunities through to operational and regulatory issues facing smaller aerodromes.
A big thank you to CAA for hosting us and working alongside NZ Airports to shape the programme. Thanks in particular to Paul Tench, Shaun Sie and Sean Rodgers for their time, input and great engagement across the day. That direct connection between airports and the regulator is an important part of making days like this worthwhile.
Thank you also to everyone from our Small Airports Group who travelled to Wellington and contributed so openly to the discussions.
There were plenty of useful conversations and ideas to take forward as we continue working together on the issues that matter to New Zealand’s small airports.
